This season woollens and velvet have the warm hues of the undergrowth and of misty skies, without forgetting violet, mauve and red, found as a contrast or in monochrome in the famous "wall" of jumpers ( William Lockie and Bouvy ) and even in the Ralph Lauren corner, the nerve centre of the American way of life at Bouvy. Cuts are sporty: Ralph Lauren features long-sleeved pique polo shirts bearing the XXL logo while Super Dry showcases vintage inspired branded t-shirts. Combine a Blauer bomber style jacket in technical materials or a Fay nylon parka lined with a zipped fleece with Mason's cigarette pants in fine ribbed velvet or Bouvy beige cotton chinos, or with the best jeans on offer with straight legs and even slight flares being the key looks this year ( Jacob Cohen and Diesel ). As for footwear, Hogan sneakers are the way to go. At Gant, the combination of a waxed tartan blouson jacket, tight-fitting flannels, a check shirt and woolly hat (complete with logo) makes for a New York City - Hamptons look. Look out for the new Aston Martin Racing Collection at Hackett. The collection includes wool and nylon blend windcheaters that are waterproof and breathable, light and luxurious knits, travel bags and on-trend accessories. The winter version of the safari jacket, the Dream Jacket, is like a shell that protects the body and fastens at the waist using a belt.
